We went to a book launch event for war correspondent turned novelist, Leslie Cockburn last night at publisher Nion Mcevoy’s home in San Francisco. These kinds of events — where cocktail hour meets literary casual meets San Francisco crazy hot indian summer days that quickly turn into cool nights — are not as easy to dress for as one might think.
Or maybe it was just my jet-lag? Luckily Melanie was home to dress me properly and quickly.
Melanie put me in a colorful Peter Pilotto dress with Zara boots, H&M rings, our beloved vintage biker jacket and a Anya Hindmarch bag, which ended up being a perfect outfit for the SF literary elitey/cocktaily/weird weather event.
We even bumped into San Francisco Chronicle features columnist Leah Garchik, who gets to write about everyone in SF. She was sporting a cast from a fall at the San Francisco Opera opening night party. She was happy to let me turn the tables on her and snap some pictures of her and her stylish cast cover, pictured below.
